AYSO Area 1-C oversees a variety of youth soccer programs in the West San Gabriel Valley. A short description of each program can be found below. If you have any questions about a program, please contact the board member who administers that activity.
The AYSO Area 1-C Upper Division Program has boys and girls teams in the 16U and 19U age groups. Each region may field one or more teams in each division and all play is inter-regional. Games are played in September and October and the season concludes before the start of the high school soccer season.
The regular season champion and runner-up in the 10U, 12U & 14U divisions from each region play a tournament in December or January. The tournament champions in each division advance to the Section Play-Through Tournament to compete against other area champions from around Southern California.
Each region in AYSO Area 1-C is encouraged to form All-Star teams at the 10U, 12U & 14U age groups. Each age/gender group may form teams, designated as the Section team, the Area team and Regional Stars teams. Teams play a league schedule in January and February each year with the eventual winners advancing to the Section Tournament held in March.
This program provides an opportunity for players from 10U to 19U to play soccer in the spring. The Upper Division teams (16U and 19U) play a league schedule on Sundays with a Playoff Tournament on the final weekend. The 10U, 12U and 14U teams are divided into 2 levels of competitive play. Spring Select teams play a tournament style format with multiple games on three separated weekends. Spring Development teams play a league schedule on Saturdays and one Sunday. A final Playoff weekend is held in early May.
The AYSO Area 1-C Very Important Player (VIP) program was established to meet the needs and abilities of physically and mentally challenged persons of all ages. The laws are modified, if necessary, to account for any issues of mobility or comprehension.
